January 24, 2025 – A client, who owned a 2022 Lucid Grand Touring, purchased in New York with a defective battery system and issues with not being able to open the door using the fob, requiring multiple repairs and more than 60 days out of the service, won a full New York Lemon Law refund of $154,363.00 by the New York State Attorney General Lemon Law Program.

Despite 12 repair attempts to fix the battery and key fob defects, and more than 60 days out of service, Lucid failed to repair it. After receiving notice of a New York Lemon Law claim, Lucid refused to repurchase the 2022 Lucid Grand Touring.
Approximately 18 months after the consumer purchased the defective 2022 Lucid Grand Touring, he hired the New York Lemon Law Attorneys of David J. Gorberg & Associates to file a NY lemon law complaint with the New York State Lemon Law Arbitration Program against Lucid seeking a full refund.
Lucid denied the New York Lemon Law claim, alleging the vehicle was not defective or a lemon.

The Problems with the 2022 Lucid Grand Touring
Our New York Lemon Law client began experiencing problems with a defective battery system and issues with not being able to open the door using the fob of his 2022 Lucid Grand Touring shortly after purchase.
Despite 12 repairs, the 2022 Lucid Grand Touring’s battery system and key fob defects were never fixed. A New York Lemon Law claim was filed with the New York State Certified Lemon Law Program on December 2, 2024 seeking a full refund of the purchase price.

Repair of mobile key, replacement of door handle and latch cinch motor and HV battery does substantially reduce the value to consumer and he feels it unsafe for his family use.
Consumer has met the burden of proof that the defect did substantially impair the use, safely…Plaintiff is granted full refund on price of the vehicle.
