Affected 2021, 2022 and 2023 Ford F-150 owners were notified by mail to bring their trucks to their nearest Ford dealer so that they could receive a free tie-strap, tape wrap, and harness replacement as necessary.

Ford F-150 owners report rear axle defects online

Many Ford F-150 owners have reported brake problems due to the rear axle defect.  Just read this complaint to NHTSA:

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle erroneously experienced unintended braking. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V509000 (Parking Brake). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Another 2022 Ford F-150 state the following:

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the electronic parking brake engaged independently, and the vehicle stopped abruptly. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact’s husband depressed the brake pedal, shifted into park (P), shifted back into drive (D), and continued driving. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V509000 (Parking Brake) because VIN was not included.
