Just read this complaint by a Escalade owner to KBB

Bought new from Cadillac dealer. Replaced radiator, struts, transmission sensor and more. Now radio controller is out and no parts to be found for this expensive vehicle according to dealership. Seventy seven thousand miles on a 2015 vehicle that has only seen highways. Worst vehicle i have ever owned. This is the third Cadillac but not doubt the last I will own. Seriously over rated for the money your pay.

Problems with brakes

Having good working brakes is essential for a safe vehicle. Brakes which are defective can lead to an accident and a serious injury.  Many Cadillac Escalade owners are complaining about brake problems online.  One owner reports the following in the NHTSA

While all electronic safety features were engaged, vehicle failed to slow down properly, even with last minute hard breaking by driver, vehicle crashed and rear ended another vehicle. Dashcam footage available upon request.

Cadillac is aware of the brake problems with the 2019 Escalade and has issued a Brake Service Bulletin #19NA137  which states that some customers experience a squeak noise while driving at slow speeds. Apparently, the parking brake cables rub against each other or against the body of the car.  Cadillac instructs the dealership to repair the 2019 Cadillac Escalade brake problems by applying “Woven Polyester Electrical Tape”.   One would think a brake problem needs more than tape to repair it!

Problems with Seatbelts

Besides problems with the transmission, brakes, and engine of the Escalade, there is also a recall regarding the seatbelt.  According to Cars.com   “General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain…Escalade ESV vehicles….certain second-row or third-row rear seatbelts retractor assemblies may not automatically lock when the seatbelt is fully pulled out of the retractor, possibly preventing a child seat from being properly secured. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
