2022 Volvo XC60

The 2022 Volvo XC60 is a luxury SUV that surpasses its competitors in every aspect. Volvo declares this model to be “smarter than ever,” but based on the number of problems, the XC60 clearly fails the lemon law IQ test. Online users are complaining about problems with infotainment and electrical system that renders the SUV unsafe and inoperable under the Lemon Law.

2022 Volvo XC60 Infotainment Problems

A major disappointment for the XC60 is the infotainment and electrical system. Owners have been posting complaints to online forums.

One 2022 Volvo XC60 says on Edmunds: “So dissatisfied! Purchased this car (2022 Volvo XC), only 7 miles on it. I had it for 3 days before infotainment system went out. Volvo dealer replaced that, then picked up the car and had for only 4 days and the brake system failed almost resulting in an accident. Car is back at Volvo dealership. It’s my 1st Volvo so can’t speak from past experience but for a $60k vehicle, that’s brand new, I’m extremely frustrated and very disappointed. Buyers remorse to say the least”

Many other Volvo 2022 XC60 owners are having the same infotainment defects with their 2022 Volvo XC60.  Another driver reports on Edmunds: “been loyal Volvo customers for years. For the following reasons, we would not recommend the 2022 model at this time. We believe radio access in the infotainment system is feeble. Although promoted with Sirius XM, the app is not yet available. The radio.com app has an unforgiving perpetual error message, making it impossible to listen to local am radio stations/news/traffic. Apple CarPlay is not yet available. In our opinion, rather than enhancing safety, the infotainment system as presently configured makes driving hazardous. We have communicated with our dealer and Volvo about these issues, but updates to the infotainment system have not been forthcoming to date”

XC60 Electrical System Problems

The problems with 2022 Volvo XC60 are not just limited to infotainment defects.  Owners are reporting electrical problems.  On Volvo Volvo Forums one frustrated owner states:

“I bought the new XC60 2022 last month and so far its been nothing but a headache….TPMS system warning. Comes on intermittently. All tyre pressures are green in Car status. Seems to be the monitoring system at fault.   Rear sensor for opening the rear door. Worked once when the sales agent gave me a demo when collecting the car….Google services not working. No radio, no DAB etc. Just stuck on loading data….”

Volvo Recall Notice

According to Consumer Reports, Volvo has issued a recall of its seat belt system. NHTSA Campaign Number 21V682000 affects thousands of XC60 vehicles and other models.  Children’s restraint systems are unable to secure properly as a result of premature deactivation of the seat belt locking retractor.

Volvo vehicles recalled:

  • 2021 Volvo XC40 and XC40 Recharge
  • 2021-2022 Volvo V60
  • 2021 V60 CC
  • 2021-2022 Volvo XC60
  • 2021-2022 Volvo S60
  • 2021 Volvo V90 and V90 CC
  • 2021 Volvo XC90

If the Volvo XC60 vehicle is “smarter than ever,” it seriously needs to go back to school and get a better education because the Volvo XC60 gets a failing grade in the lemon law class.
